Ruth Gears Up for HSI Level 2 Coaching Course

Ruth is absolutely thrilled to be embarking on the Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) Level 2 Coach course in the coming weeks!
This course is a significant step forward—the Level 2 qualification equips coaches to operate independently across three key disciplines: medium-level dressage, 1.20m show jumping, and CCI2*/CCI3*L eventing—building on the solid foundation of Level 1 horsesportireland.ie.
As a National Performance Coach, Ruth already brings considerable experience to the table—from working with Eventing Ireland youth squads to guiding several Irish Riding Club (SJI) riders. She’s excited to add fresh coaching techniques, up-to-date competitive strategies, and enhanced pedagogical tools to her toolkit.
The course spans eight days over roughly six to eight months: the first three are dedicated to demonstrations and instruction; this is followed by two-day Pre‑Assessments, where coaches work with their own horses and riders to deliver coached sessions under scrutiny. Finally, candidates undertake Final Assessments, evaluated by independent assessors horsesportireland.ie+1.
Ruth’s motivation is clear: she wants to provide her riders with sessions that are safe, effective, and intellectually challenging, preparing them to the perform to their best on national and international stages.
Having represented Ireland herself at underage levels—bringing home European medals—Ruth is now passionate about nurturing the next generation. Her vision? To empower her riders with the skills, confidence, and mindset to shine—and succeed—on the world’s biggest stages.
Stay tuned for her updates as she embraces this exciting professional milestone
